LOTF response

LOTF reveals what true human nature is by sticking a group of preteens and young children onto an island without adults. Today's world almost hides what true human nature is behind the media, politics, phones, and just technology in general. Without all of these distractions present, the true human core shows its ugly face. LOTF doesn't immediately show a group of kids turn into beasts, it shows a progression.

Over time, the kids stray further and further from their sanity. They slowly begin to forget who they were and become savages. All of the characters have this happen to them at different rates based on their personality. Jack quickly loses his humanity and becomes a bloodthirsty hunter. Ralph is slow to change, but he is slowing morphing into a different person.
